ACCRA – The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana says its outfit is waiting on the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama before the results of the 2016 Election could be declared.
Ghana visited the polls on December 7 and according to figures collated by various Political Parties, the main opposition is leading with a huge margin.
Other contestants in the race have conceded defeat and congratulated Nana Addo Danquah, the NPP Flagbearer as the new president-elect of Ghana.
The EC says its office is also done and results are ready to be declared. “We are ready. We are only waiting on Mahama to commission the results before we can declare” – Charlotte Osei, Chairperson for the EC said.
Mahama is yet to announce the date and time for commissioning the results.
